Between 2019 and 2023<\/span>, the top 1,000 EUIPO trademark attorney firms collectively registered <\/b><\/span>423,223<\/b><\/span> trademark applications<\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

During this period, there were significant fluctuations in filing activities<\/b>. In 2019, filings totaled 81,837, increasing to 90,325 in 2020\u2014a growth of approximately 10%. This upward trend continued into 2021, with filings reaching 106,859, representing an unprecedented 18% increase.<\/b> By the end of 2021, business activity had strongly recovered from COVID-19, making it a record year for trademark application volumes among major European trademark firms, with every major register seeing record filing levels.<\/p>\n

Due to the new economic and societal challenges the world faced in 2022, that year marked a turning point, with filings by the top EUIPO trademark filers decreasing by 14%. Despite concerns of a further decline in 2023 due to the uncertain economic outlook, the year proved to be one of stability, with the filing activities of European trademark firms remaining relatively steady, as evidenced by IP Pilot data<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
